In collaboration with Adam Frelin for an interactive sculpture along a scenic bikeway
In "Trestling", the sculpture acts as a gateway as well as an elevated walkway. Paying homage to the construction of the narrow rail in 1874 that propelled agricultural Ankeny into a bustling station town, passers-by can take a break from their journey to climb to the top of the sculpture and admire the view of the landscape. The intricate weathered steel construction is reminiscent of the highly engineered wooden trusses that spanned across valleys and connected places and people together.
