In collaboration with Berardo Matalucci for an advanced building technology facade submitted to the 2018 Metals in Construction Design Contest
The Metal in Construction magazine's design challenge in 2018 was an architectural facade focused on a holistic building approach to workforce physical and mental well-being. In addition to basic comfort needs, the new millennial workforce demands a different workplace culture than the preceding generation. As a way to increase happiness through biophilia as well as leverage the natural air remediation technology in plants, this proposal integrates plants into the glazing as modular, high performance cassettes. The plants are easily maintained throughout the seasons, and the buffer they create between outside and inside provides a calming oasis in the middle of a bustling cityscape.
