"Life on Mars" presents an engineering flowchart describing a closed-loop system to support human life on the planet Mars. In an environment where survival is manufactured, the fragility of the machine-to-biology cycle is on display rather than existing in support "black boxes". Ingestion and excretion shape the architectures that must respond to the laws of conservation.
